This event brings together policymakers, environmental and marine NGOs, researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to celebrate the project’s achievements and spark new ideas for inclusive coastal transformation at both the community and policy level.
At the heart of EmpowerUs is a commitment to community empowerment and resilient coastal development. Through inclusive approaches and concepts like Co-creation, Transition Mechanisms, Leaving No One Behind, Ocean Literacy, Nature-Based Solutions, and Nature-Connectedness, the project has supported communities across Europe in becoming active agents of change, while aligning with the goals of several policy initiatives like the EU Green Deal, Nature Restoration Law, and UN Ocean Decade.
