ABOUT

The Helmholtz Center Hereon conducts cutting-edge international research for a changing world: around 1,100 employees create knowledge and innovations for more resilience and sustainability. The scientific spectrum of the Hereon includes high-performance materials, processes and environmentally friendly technologies for mobility and new energy systems. In addition, biomaterials are researched for use in medicine and to increase the quality of life. With the help of research and consulting, the Hereon meets the challenges of climate change in a solution-oriented manner and enables sustainable management and protection of the coastal and marine environment through a comprehensive scientific understanding. Understanding it fundamentally, applying it practically – the interdisciplinary research spectrum covers a unique spectrum.

ROLE IN PROJECT

Co-coordinating WP3, HEREON is providing access to DANUBIUS supersites and accompanied environmental and biodiversity data (WP3). Linking terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine biodiversity observation.
