ABOUT

The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) has eight research institutes and three natural history museums conducting earth system research in bio- and geosciences. Senckenberg is one of the internationally most renowned research institutions focusing on biodiversity in all its dimensions: from genomes to organisms and ecosystems and the interactions of climate, biosphere, atmosphere and hydrosphere – in the past, present and the future. Moreover, its mission is to make science accessible to a broad public via teaching, publishing and the use of natural history museums.

ROLE IN PROJECT

SGN are co-coordinating WP3 and tasks 3.5 and 5.1. Providing access to hundreds of Long-Term Ecosystem Research in Europe (eLTER) sites and accompanied environmental and biodiversity data (WP3). Linking terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine biodiversity observation (WP3), as well as conducting biodiversity time series analyses and drivers thereof as part of WP5.
