The MARCO-BOLO Data Management Plan (DMP) is central to the project’s results, providing partners with a clear guide to ensure their data is preserved long after the project ends. As a time-limited initiative, MARCO-BOLO cannot retain its (meta)data indefinitely; instead, it ensures they are archived in trusted, reliable, and long-term repositories.

The MARCO-BOLO DMP goes further by serving as a valuable resource for newly funded projects, endorsed by the European Commission as a model/guide for effective data management. Other projects are benefiting by adopting and adapting our DMP to fit their own needs, ensuring that data management finally becomes standardised across disciplines, cities, countries and hopefully one day continents.
