The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) is a network of organisations supported by the EU’s integrated maritime policy. It addresses the fragmented approach to marine data collection in Europe and creates a sustainable digital ecosystem, providing free access to standardised observations and processed data products across seven marine themes. EMODnet facilitates interoperability, benefiting policymakers, scientists, industries, and the public. With more than 120 partner organisations, it focuses on user requirements, conducts sea-basin assessments, and operates the Data Ingestion Portal to enhance the quantity and quality of available marine data.
