A MARCO-BOLO partner, CIIMAR, has conducted a mapping exercise to identify 18 ongoing HORIZON 2020 and HORIZON EUROPE projects focused on marine biodiversity observation and monitoring. These projects were selected based on their relevance to oceanic, marine, and coastal ecosystems, and their implementation in key European regions such as the Arctic Ocean, North Sea, Baltic Sea, and the Mediterranean.
Included in the report:
- A clear overview of each project’s objectives, timeline, and thematic focus.
- A breakdown of the geographical areas studied, with dedicated sections and maps for each region.
- Visual summaries and tables that make it easy to compare projects and identify clustering opportunities.
This mapping complements the previous MARCO-BOLO project mapping work and offers a valuable resource for identifying synergies, shared case studies, and potential collaboration opportunities across the EU marine biodiversity landscape.
