Exploring Coastal Habitats Through Marine Robotics: Benefits and Challenges
On 25th September at 11:00 CET, the MOD Alliance will host a compelling webinar titled “Exploring Coastal Habitats Through Marine Robotics: Benefits and Challenges.” This upcoming session will explore how cutting-edge robotic technologies could revolutionise the way we study and protect coastal ecosystems.
The MOD Alliance is a collaborative platform uniting three Horizon Europe sister projects: MARCO-BOLO,OBAMA-NEXT, DiverSea, all working together to share knowledge, tools, and innovations that support sustainable marine monitoring and conservation.
We’ll be joined by two expert speakers, Miguel Carvalho (INEGI) and Lucrezia Bernacchi (UPorto), who will offer insights into the potential and limitations of marine robotics in real-world research. They will explore how autonomous systems may help us better understand and manage complex coastal environments.
Participants can expect to learn about:
-
How robotic platforms might be used to survey coastal habitats
-
The advantages of automation in marine monitoring
-
Examples from current or upcoming European field projects
-
The challenges of deploying marine robotics in dynamic and sensitive areas
Don’t miss the chance to engage with leading voices in marine tech and habitat conservation!
