10-14 February 2025, ESA-ESRIN, Frascati, Italy
Have you heard? BIOSPACE25, the first international conference dedicated exclusively to the use of Satellite Remote Sensing (SRS) for biodiversity across terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine ecosystems, will take place in February 2025 in Frascati, Italy. The conference is organised jointly by the European Space Agency, the European Commission, the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON) and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), in collaboration with a number of partner organisations.
BIOSPACE25 will bring together experts from various fields, including satellite remote sensing, biodiversity science, and environmental policy, to explore how Earth Observation technology can address critical biodiversity challenges. The conference will feature plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and workshops aimed at improving biodiversity monitoring strategies and integrating SRS tools into research and conservation efforts.
The event will also address key topics such as the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, conservation efforts, and the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.
